Protect your personnel with innovative PPE

Industrial Process News is proud to announce that JSP has been selected as our PPE Company of the Month.

JSP is Europe’s leading independent manufacturer of industrial head protection and ‘above the neck’ Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including a range of height safety equipment and traffic & site management products. Strongly committed to innovation, JSP has an in-house Research & Development team, state-of-the-art manufacturing, automated production lines and testing bases in seven factories over three continents. Using these well-established facilities, JSP has pushed safety product development to new levels, and an estimated 70 million people use JSP’s products every day to protect themselves at home and at work.

Indeed, it is clear that JSP has a strong passion for improving health and safety for a wide array of industries, such as construction, civil engineering, automotive, steel, chemical, oil & gas and many more. JSP ensures it listens closely to its end users, adapting products to give the results they need in the environment they face.

What’s more, all of JSP’s PPE can be made to measure. Its safety helmets, hearing products and eyewear can be customised according to individual specifications, using corporate logos and colour schemes, safety messages, personal names and identity systems. JSP also operates a BSI Kitemark™ scheme for products, which is the platinum standard for product quality.

This guarantees that every product JSP manufactures and sells is from a batch that has been controlled and tested to ensure it passes the relevant standard. Manufacturing under ISO9001 Quality Management System, the JSP brand is synonymous with Tested, Trusted and Traceable products. The JSP-CHECK™ SYSTEM also adds validation as a unique manufacturing barcode to give customers complete product traceability, by pinpointing the exact location, time and date of manufacture to the second.

Most recently, JSP released a range of new PPE innovations to offer even higher levels of performance for the industry. The EVO®VISTA™ Safety Helmets integrate fully retractable Optical Class 1 protective eyewear. The EVO®VISTAshield™ incorporates a faceshield, and the EVO®VISTAlens™ incorporates an overspec. Furthermore, fully adjustable pivot arms allow the shield and lens to be deployed outwards and over prescription spectacles, unlike similar systems that require helmet adjustment to fit. This helps to tackle any compatibility issues or lost eyewear on site.

In addition, the EVO®VISTA™Dualswitch™ Safety Helmets are the first helmets to incorporate eye protection in the form of a shield and lens (as above) and provide protection performance to both EN397 and EN12492 on one certificate. Flicking the switch changes the retention strength of the helmet’s fully adjustable 4-point chinstrap to give conformity to either the Construction Helmet EN397 standard or the Climbing Helmet EN12492 standard for working at height.

JSP has also released the JSP-GO™ RETAIL RANGE, a new selection of head, eye, hearing and respiratory protection using an icon-based communication tool via QR code that links to JSP’s ‘Guides Online’ (www.jspgo.com) website. This is a multi-language platform filled with informative tables and demonstration videos to provide everything needed to aid the correct selection of PPE for individuals worldwide.

In respiratory technology, JSP has released new PressToCheck™ Compact Filters, low profile filters that offer very low breathing resistance and excellent compatibility when worn with other PPE. The ultra-lightweight design still offers the award-winning PressToCheck™ technology to check a safe face fit. When used with the JSP Force™8 half mask or Force™10 full face mask, the user can check their face fit by pressing both filters simultaneously, closing the internal mechanism, to stop air from entering them, and check the seal of the mask. This offers daily face fit reassurance every time the mask is put on, making it a true innovation in respiratory equipment.

JSP has also released the EVOGuard® range, which includes advanced Optical Class 1 Industrial Visors and an extensive range of Forestry Visors designed using the latest technology for improved light transmission and protection. This is complemented by JSP’s specialised new SWISS ONE Safety® X Eyewear, a specialise range of eyewear with the highest standards of design and precision engineering. This range is both attractive and comfortable to wear, using unique technology to enable RX prescription by taking a ‘selfie’.

Similar to its growing product range, JSP has expanded significantly over the last five years, opening new sales and marketing offices overseas as well as new manufacturing premises. This development will continue into the future, offering technical advice, training and education on the correct selection of PPE. It is crucial that people wear PPE from trusted brands to ensure product performance standards are achieved and they receive the correct level of protection. Thus, JSP is always engaging with end users to develop the latest innovative products that will help companies better protect their personnel.

Of course, the global demand for PPE has been unprecedented over the last six months, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “At the start of this global crisis, JSP and partners reacted quickly to help provide necessary PPE and set up a direct route to supply and support the NHS and frontline healthcare services, providing them with vital PPE supplies, respiratory support and services with a technical helpline and face fit training,” explained Sarah Baker, Marketing Director.

“JSP and partners are proud to be supplying NHS Trusts with Force™8 half masks and Force™10 full face masks fitted with our award-winning PressToCheck™ P3 filters as well supporting them throughout this pandemic. These products deliver the highest levels of respiratory protection – both product performance and face fit.

“JSP would also like to say a massive thank you to the great efforts of our customers and partners who have supplied JSP PPE to frontline healthcare services, supplied essential industries including power generation, utilities, manufacturing, distribution, rail and transport, carrying out extensive training of JSP Products in many locations.

“To help assist with social distancing as people return to work, JSP has introduced some new innovative PPE products to help combat the spread of COVID-19, supporting our valued distribution network so that they can be supplied with the products they need to support their customers, end-users, and help keep the economy moving and stay safe.

“By responding quickly, JSP is managing to meet the large increase in demand for PPE, largely due to the wealth of experienced team members across the business and our robust, dynamic and adaptable manufacturing facilities in the UK. JSP is making further significant commitments to increase manufacturing capacity by further increasing robotic production lines and securing supply chain to ensure the future supply of PPE Products. JSP will continue to support you with technical advice and keep you updated with the COVID-19 support section on the JSP website.”
