Industrial Process News is extremely proud to present Cirrus Research as its selected Noise Measurement Company of the Month.
Cirrus Research specialises in the design, manufacture and distribution of noise measurement instruments that help clients meet the requirements of standards and legislation worldwide. Founded in 1970, Cirrus incorporates the latest scientific and technical developments to produce instruments that accurately measure noise levels and exposure. Manufactured in the UK, Cirrus noise measurement instruments are used in a wide range of applications and across many different industries.
Thomas Shelton, Digital Marketing Manager at Cirrus Research, commented, “We bring over 40 years of experience to the industry and are leaders in terms of product innovation. Our Research & Development Department has been first to bring many new products to the table, such as our doseBadge, which was the first wireless personal dosimeter launched to market. Our product ranges are constantly under review and being upgraded so they don’t just keep pace with industry changes but lead them.
“Our instruments are innovative and simple to operate whilst being supported by an industry-leading 15 Year Warranty. Our products are available worldwide and through a range of Cirrus Research plc offices, selected distributors and service centres. We also offer our existing and prospective customers advice and information to help them determine which instrument is best suited to their application.”
Cirrus Research’s clients stretch across the UK and internationally, from Network Rail to construction giants who work on some of the biggest projects in the world. Their instruments are used in places as far apart as quarries, mines and airports to opera houses, outdoor festivals such as Glastonbury, and nightclubs. They also have the Trojan2 Noise Nuisance Recorder, which gets deployed in hundreds of homes across the UK by Local Authorities and Housing Associations who are constantly investigating noise complaints as part of neighbour disputes.
Recently, Cirrus Research has diversified into vibration monitoring with the new Revo Vibration Meter. Revo delivers everything you need to measure vibration exposure. Like the rest of the Cirrus product range, the Revo boasts the same easy functionality to make vibration monitoring simple, allowing you to capture vibration data for any application easily.
It is ideal for monitoring hand-arm vibration and whole body vibration exposure, as well as vibration from passenger and merchant ships, machinery, vehicles and other vibrating structures. The Revo is due to be launched at Excel London in June 2015, which will be its first introduction to the UK market.
Thomas explained, “We simply try to make noise measurement easy. Our ethos is to provide a high quality product at a competitive price, supporting our customers and distributors with noise measurement instruments that meet the latest and highest standards.
“We also have a 15 Year ‘No Quibble’ Warranty on all our Cirrus Research products that is unrivalled by our competitors. Our network of offices and experienced distributors means that international clients enjoy the same level of service as our domestic customers.
“We also offer a comprehensive calibration service to all clients so they can have complete peace of mind that their instrument meets the very latest Standards and legislation.”
Due to an increasing demand across the UK, Cirrus Research has expanded their sales team, which is great news for the company.
When asked to discuss the company’s plans for the future, Thomas concluded, “Cirrus Research intends to continue as an industry leader and innovator for many years to come. We will continue to invest heavily in R&D. Our strategy is to expand our overseas network, particularly in North America and the Far East.
“We are extremely active on the trade shows both in the UK and abroad. Recently we attended the H&S North Show at Bolton, as well as the H&S Event at the NEC last month. We have taken a large stand at the SHExpo in London in June where you can find us at P2150 on the main walk way. Look out for our very own Noise Doctor who will be in residence for the 3 days.”
